Topical Mastic Oil for Treatment of Functional Dyspepsia: A Randomized Triple-Blind Controlled Trial

Background: The main goal of the present study was to evaluate effect topical mastic oil, compared placebo on treatment functional dyspepsia (FD). Materials and Methods: Sixty-three patients with FD were included. Thirty-two subjects received oil (10 drops/TDS after meal) massage 31 sesame massage. Both groups pantoprazole (40 mg daily) along severity early satiation, postprandial fullness, epigastric pain burning assessed 4 weeks using Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) as well frequency symptoms. Satisfaction also a researcher-made questionnaire. Changes in symptoms evaluated by Friedman’s test.
